Essay Topics and Topic and Essay Titles and Topics For Your IB ToK
Essay Topics and Topic and Essay Titles and Topics For Your IB ToKIt's time for IB or essay to get underway this fall, and the best way to get a head start is by organizing your topic and essay titles and topics. But, where do you begin when it comes to choosing topics and essay titles and topics? The great thing about the IB Program is that you are required to do extensive research and preparation in advance of submitting your essay. You should familiarize yourself with both course outlines and the specifics of each assignment. You'll also want to check the syllabus for any changes, as some assignments will be slightly modified or even completely reworded depending on your final grade. The final evaluation is based not only on your essay but also on how well you execute the outline of the assignment. For this reason, I recommend you create a topic outline that includes, at minimum, the names of the specific subjects or areas of study to which your essay is assigned. In addition, you m ay want to focus on writing a topic outline that includes these topics:Subjectivity and objectivity - You will be asked to explain and compare specific claims made by an individual, group, or theory in your essay, and compare those claims to the basis of objectivity. While your essay assignment will specify this as an area of study, the potential topic for your essay might be to make an argument that one type of statement (or several types of statements) must be true for a particular theory to be correct.Writing for people - These essays are often lengthy, and a lot of research goes into writing an effective essay for a specific audience. Knowing the specific interests and writing style of your audience will help you better understand how to structure your essay.Writing for an audience - The last area of interest is writing for an audience. For example, if you write for a corporate audience, you might be asked to make an argument for the benefits of taking part in an intern program. Or, if you write for an audience who has a religious or spiritual bent, you may be asked to emphasize what the university offers in relation to their religion or spirituality.Planning your essay - When it comes to writing for the school, you will likely be responsible for determining how much you will spend for the project. If you have already made a budget, you should consult with your advisor or faculty adviser for more details.Getting started - You've gotten through the last few steps of creating your IB tok essay topics, but now it's time to get to work. Prepare your outline of your topic and essay topics, as well as the final draft of your essay. You should also take a look at your syllabus to see what area of your course needs to be changed.
